Hi there, Air Purifiers Lab was started by 2 STEM researchers who just wanted to solve “Hey, how can we bring more fresh air in our office?” problem. Opening windows didn’t really work since there is a heavy-trafficked road next to the office building, so getting an air purifier was an obvious choice.
Once you start looking for the best air purifiers to get, you get into 1000+ different models. Since we thought it’s probably now only us who can’t tell which air purifier to get, we decided to just get a bunch of them (company credit card, if you know what I mean) and test them out.
Air Purifiers Lab was born. We got CFM meters, laser-measuring devices for dust particulates, and a decibel meter, and we even went out and built a smoke box (with a fog machine) to objectively put air purifiers to the test. Along the way, we figured specs are a good way to tell how good an air purifier is, and guys’ opinions (the ones who bought and used specific models) matter as well.
At Air Purifiers Lab, we want to combine these 3 aspects – testing, specs, and user review – to try to shine some light on which air purifiers are good and which ones are, well, pretty useless.
